My wife and I got a 55 gallon for super cheap after going down an aquascape rabbit hole on YouTube.
Substrate – Fluval Plant Stratum (new)
Driftwood/Dragonstone – used on FB $20
Assorted Plants – FB
Heating – 2x Eheim 100 watt (new)
Heating Control – Inkbird ITC-306T
Filter – Fluval 307 (used on FB $85)
Light – Hygger HG999 (new)
Decided to do a dark start before adding plants or fish for a month while cycling the tank. Used Fitz Fishless Fuel to feed beneficial bacteria. Did a 50% water change before planting. First pic is the first day we planted and the second pick is 2 weeks later. We have added 2 Mystery Snails and 1 Neon Tetra (dont worry, adding 10 more when available) Also ordered 6 Julii Corys that should be here this week. Will wait awhile before adding more fish as I want to let the plants grow out some more.
