Long story short I’ve only had these fish about a week. My dad bought them for me from Petco (big mistake 😑) So obviously they have been unhealthy. I have had my tank cycling for almost 6 months before I added them. Water perimeters were perfect 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates, 0 ammonia. I had a couple die right away, returned them and had to get a few more bc they started picking on each other bc it wasn’t a big enough shoal. Then after I already added them I noticed a few had ich. I treated them for that for a few days, did a 25% water change. Then noticed this fish that still looks very ill. He looks like he’s starving or emaciated. He still eats and swims fine. Doesn’t have any abnormal behavior that I’ve seen. I’ve kept fish in the past but never neons, I’ve come to find out they are a very difficult fish to keep, due to bad breeding and are very susceptible to disease. I went to a local fish store to ask for advice, they said it looks like parasites. They recommended Prazipro, so I am currently treating the tank with that. I thought it could be neon tetra disease but he doesn’t have an S shape or act lethargic. Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this with their fish or what it might be? Please help!!! (Side note, all of them recovered from ich and none of the others have showed any signs of whatever is happening to this one. I don’t really have the ability to separate him bc the only other tank I have set up is a shrimp tank and the meds aren’t safe for them ☹️)
