So today me and my son hit up the canal spot that I’ve posted her before with the pads. I started off pitching in the duck weed at yhe beginning of the canal and headed down towards an open section, closer to the other end. As soon as I casted the worm in the open area I landed the first bass on the Too Fresh Stik Em worm. (3 1/2 lbs). Since I had to walk the the rocks to last the first fish, I decided to walk the rocks further down to fish more, leading two rods by my truck. I hooked into another decent bass but it managed to get off, tearing my work in the process. So instead of walking back down the rocks, I decided to go back up to the bank and then take the bank back down to My Truck, which was about 50 feet away from me. Once I made it back up to the top of the hill and started to walk towards the truck I noticed a rod on the ground that had my swim bait on it attached to a chatter bait set up at first I question whether or not I had even walked down on the rocks as far as I thought I had initially because I didn’t understand why my rod was right here instead of down by my truck and then I just choked it off as me not having gone that far. Once I made it down to the truck to my surprise, my two rides were still in the same place, and that was at that moment I realized that the rod that I picked up had been there since the last time I fished the spot which was almost a month ago. This was crazy to me because I would figured that someone would have already come across it or the people who cut the grass would have either picked it up with the big lawnmower or ran it over. what is even crazier is that I didn’t even know I had lost the rod lol.
Needless to say I am thankful that I came across it, even if I didn’t know I had lost it. I usually count how many set ups I take with me when I am walking the bank lines and fishing by myself but on that particular day, I met up with the friend out there and we were moving from Spot to Spot along the canal and I just overlooked it.
All in all me and Jr. had a productive session and we both landed fish.
Sorry for the long post lol.
