Put my blood, sweat, and tears into putting my hook into a thick split ring and as I got it on, I looked at it to see my masterpiece before realizing it doesn't look right, planning to use this 7 ish inch popper for jacks, posting this so I don't make the same possible mistake for the other split ring and doubling the struggle

Yeah it’s too small. And buy some split ring pliers it should only take a couple of seconds to swap hooks
Way too small. Get the right tools and things will be much less bloody, sweaty, and teary.

Get some Xuron split ring pliers. They’re the best.
