I’m a blacksmith who lives on the Trinity River in Northern California. A neighbor asked if we could make them an address sign with a fly fishing theme, and so this is what we came up with. They asked us to blur their address for privacy.

The rod is forged and drawn out from a 4’ piece of 1” round bar. The reel and sign backing were cut and forged from 410 stainless. Copper was used for the rod guide wrapping and the line itself.

Personally I prefer a slower action rod that bends all the way down to the butt, but that’ll certainly get the job done. /s
