


hello i’m trying to help me bf heal his fish that got sick randomly. symptoms include laying on the bottom, flashing/erratic swimming, and not eating. parameters were: ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 0, ph 6.8. ive been using api general cure and aquarium salt. but idk if ive seen much improvement. next step is kanaplex 🙁

It seems like you’re doing what you can. I had a white betta just like that, and she had those tiny holes around her head. She didn’t have symptoms, but I treated her for hole in the head just in case and they never went away.
I’d stop with aquarium salt if you’re dosing into the tank, since it will not evaporate well if you keep adding it.
Your parameters don’t indicate a cycle crash or ammonia spike. It’s possible she may have an internal infection. It’s always hard to tell with them though.
If you keep monitoring and decide to use kanaplex I’d do it either in a hospital tank or dosed in food. I’ve heard the food route is best, although it is strong for their bodies so be careful.
I would try setting up a hospital tank for her and seeing if that helps.
