Will be bank fishing from the right hand side in the drawing.
Water temps will be just above 60 degrees. Cloudy conditions.
River is 80 feet wide, slow moving, a ways upstream of a dam. The bank is a relatively sharp cliff. Depth is 6-8 feet typically. I’m looking to catch crappie, catfish and maybe some bass. Rocky bottom with lots of submerged brush piles.

I can definitely fish between lines A and B. Idk if I am allowed down to line C or not to hit the backside of that island.

Are there more likely fish in the small little split-off section of the stream (2-3ft deep)? Should I try to hit the docks/brush piles mostly near the bank or cast out closer to the middle? Looking at using worms to catch some baitfish on my baby rod and then using them as cut bait for catfish. Worms with a slip bobber for crappie. Anything for bass while I wait for catfish.

Where on the map and where in the water column are you thinking is good?

Thanks!

  1. Where that island is or around the docs/ boat ramp. Not only is there structures around but the current is probably easier to handle for the fish there

  2. Downstream of the island, there will be low current eddies. Target the current break, as game fish will be sitting in the low-current area, waiting for food to pass by on the high-current side.

  3. Just below island at top of section C. I’d throw my lure up river on right hand side and bring it toward the calmer water below the island.

Then I’d work the docks in the skinnier section
