I've got a Shimano Speedmaster 10 II, and I've spooled it with 300m of 0.23mm braid. There's heaps of space left, and I was wondering if I could tie on extra braid to fill out the spool.
I want to use this reel for beach fishing where the bait gets kayaked out from shore, but I don't think 300m will be enough.
I'm thinking of buying an extra 300m of the same braid and tying it onto the already existing braid to get a total of 600m, but I'm wondering if the knot will become a major weak point and greatly reduce the line strength.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I haven't done this level heavy of fishing before.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

If you tie a really good knot, it will be fine. FG at a minimum
Just top shot it with mono. Look how
Wahoo fishermen set theirs up and replicate it
