Today I got home and noticed my beta sushi, or otherwise known as fat fuck, has torn fins. He’s been fine last 2 to 3 weeks. I’ve had him we’re almost at a month, but his fin has been starting to rip today and I think he’s been nipping them. I’m not exactly sure why, the only plausible reason I could think is the beta log in his tank or the fact I added a sponge filter so the current was in a strong and it was said that Bettas like sponge filters better than hang on the back filters. Everything else in my tank has been sanded and boiled and cleaned so that it wouldn’t hurt him, the betta log I did not sand though since I thought it would be fine. The only reason I would think it is my beta log is cause I’ve seen another person having issues with their beta, nipping their fin and stuff because their beta log had been chipping off paint. I don’t know if that’s the problem or if it’s cause I added in a new filter everything else he’s been fine with it because everything else has been in his tank for a while, and he has never nipped his fins before. That picture is down below and yes, I know his tank looks a little bear. I am getting more plants and wood. They’re on their way, including some floating plants.
