When I buy a betta I tend to pick the sickest in the rack at the pet store and rehabilitate them in this tank. So far there have been three that died quickly but two others that lasted a few years. This newest is a conundrum for me though. She refuses to eat food! I've tried flakes, bottom feeder pellets and betta pellets but she doesn't seem interested. However, she's been living with me for about a month now so she has to be eating something because she's getting color and filling out. Any thoughts? She's a bit shy and uninterested in me so it's hard to get a clear shot of her but here is the tank. She sort of pokes around at things but I haven't seen her eat anything specifically.

Like the other user said, likely microfauna.

I would try frozen food. Brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms (feed bloodworms as a treat, it is addictive)

  2. Please do not feed bloodworms, they are not a good source of nutrition and can cause (fatal) digestion problems.

Live blackworms are a great alternative.

Frozen brine shrimp would be my next step if I were you, if you can get live food that would be preferable, but not everyone can.

  3. Get her some Mysis shrimp and try to squeeze into her mouth from a pipette. When my boy was sick that’s the only way he ate. He also only eats Bug Bites of a certain size lol. I tried like 6 betta food brands before that.
