Went to a new lake after my first spot wasn’t producing. I bank fish and this spot had some fishable pads so I tossed the frog a bit and wasn’t even getting a sniff.
Switch to the chatterbait to work along the pads and accidentally casted over the pads so I hustled to bring it back in and not snag. As I was pulling it out there was a large swirl at my bait and then it took off. Never touched the bait but it got my blood flowing.
I flipped the chatterbait up to the front of the pads and within seconds, I see water getting pushed up from underneath the middle of the pads and bolted for my lure. It was so aggressive.
I hooked up and it just starts diving. I thought it was a bowfin with how aggressive it was. Took a jump and couldn’t believe it was a bass.
Weighed in at 5.7
