This is jelly bean, my disabled koi female. She has a small crimp in her spine and is incredibly small. It was a very hard task finding a food she would and could eat. She has issues with her sight so that has been a journey too. Her 6 gallon cube tank has now finished setting as I had to re-caulk it. Waiting on her plant light to come on because hers bailed on me yesterday. For that reason her live plants were moved to an established tank I have and she has silk plants. She has finally put on weight and is eating! She likes both bug bite flakes and pellets! This is her before (first 2) and after (last 2) photos! I am honored to be able to see her grow up and develop happy and healthy colors 🙂

Wow, I teared up reading this. Thank you for caring for her.
Aaa she’s so cuttee! Reminds me of my girl, she was so tiny when I first got her. But now she’s a unit of a betta lmao, and she used to be almost fully see-through, she’s a fully white samurai betta with black speckles and a opal shine on her fins. And I think Jelly bean is just as pretty, and honestly even cuter since she may stay fun sized. I’m super glad that she’s able to eat, just make sure she’s getting all the meaty nutrition she needs, because who knows, maybe she too will become a unit of a betta one day,
I also got a baby with a similar spine defect. He was so tiny they thought he was female! He struggled for 10 months, but has managed to grow up and is as happy as a fish in a box can be
