My fish died a couple days ago 🙁 and I want to reuse this tank. He didn’t pass in his original tank he passed in a hospital tank. I believe what he had was a bacterial infection. It started out with top fin rot and he got more and more lethargic with time so I’m pretty sure it was bacterial infection. I have googled and chat gpt says I need to clean the whole thing out and start cycle from 0. I have planted this tank recently and would absolutely hate to lose all of these plants and all of the money I put into it. Chat gpt suggested bleaching the plants in all honesty I don’t want to do that. I need some advice if anyone has gone through this before. This tank also had some medication residue of Melafix and primafix. I have done 2 water changes since then though. I’ve seen previous posts saying to just give it time. I want to make absolute sure this will be safe for my next betta. I also have a nerite snail who is still currently living in that tank.
I have another separate brand new tank that I was getting ready for a new betta I’ve been fish less cycling it and I was wondering if I should put the snail in there but I don’t want to contaminate the new tank.
If anyone has experience with this kind of situation any advice would be appreciated thanks!
