Neither. There is zero reason to spend that much on a rod.

Go watch some of the hookup tackle videos and check out their website for higher end options. You can also call them and they have BFS experts that can help make a recommendation.

Gut a Walmart Berkeley rod for $30

You’re spending way too much on a bass fishing pole. I’ve caught monsters with basic gear like Ugly Sticks and they’ve lasted years. Save your money and buy 50 at that price point. Otherwise you’re crazy.

Damn I need to get into the rod selling business.

I have spent this much on a rod before. A St. Croix and a G. Loomis
And I have firmly found that doing so is nonsense.
Go ham on a good reel, the rod can be anything (like an ugkystik) as long as it matches up with the species you’re bringing in.
But maybe you’re like me and you NEED to learn the expensive way.

They both pair perfectly with a CC BFS. For trout Id always get a Great Hunting Huntsman. It’s just the pinnacle of Troutrods. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Imo, if you’re on streams and rivers I’d probably go for the Huntsman for the maneuverability of a very short grip but if I was fishing lakes and larger rivers I would go for the Destroyer.

Siglett if you’re mainly targeting bass Huntsman if you’re mainly targeting trout.
