Still reads info, I broke it first time using it because I tried it on open water, how should I fix it and no I cannot just buy a new one, it is way too expensive for an investment I already made

  1. Maybe try a marine friendly liquid gasket. Some simple silicone caulk may work. Id research a bit. All you need is something that keeps water out of the wiring but also electrical friendly. Large heat shrink tubing may also work. If it still reads its probably okay with any fix you find.

Go get the plasti-dip in a can. Clean the cable with alcohol and let dry. Make sure inside is dry. Add several layers of plasti dip over that cut and a half inch rather side of the cut. That stuff is tough and have used it successfully in this situation. I have even used it as a preventative. BUT going forward. Pull that transducer out of the way every time u hook a fish. Also make sure your transducer is hanging vertical when you apply the few layers of plasti dip so it dries straight.

  3. You need to keep water out of the cable jacket, so tape isn’t going to work. You need something like Permatex silicone or Loctite PL or Starbrite 8200.
