How do I know what lure to use with what rod?

I just started fishing this last July, but have really gotten to deeply love it since I moved to Northern California. I was given a variety of rods, which include GX2 Ugly Stik medium Baitcasting combo, a generic brand medium spinner reel combo, a light extreme stik combo, and a Shakespeare ultra light combo. I was also given an array of tackle. Most of what I have been fishing for consists of Rockfish, Lingcod, Surf Perch, Largemouth Bass, Rainbow/Steelhead, and Cutthroat Trout. Though the only thing I've been able to catch is Bass. My main issue I am finding is that I just do not know how to pair my lures and rods, especially with my baitcaster. I will add photos of my tackle and rods, but any advice concerning my question or just general knowledge you could share with a new fisherman would be greatly appreciated.

I also go to San Diego quite frequently.
