So I've had better for my whole life and with my current female. (Shes in the jar cause im taking her home for Christmas break) She has been doing this weird thing where she suddenly drops looking dead. For the last week I noticed she's not acting normal. I think shes dying based on hey age but l want to know if anyone knows why she just sits like this.

Wait, I don’t quite understand. Does she normally have an aquarium? Why is she in this bowl? And for how long?

Unfortunately it does look like she’s beginning to pinecone, i believe i can see the gaps between scales on her side as well, which does indicate dropsy. 4 years is pretty old for a betta nowadays with how poor their genetics are, but look into how to do salt baths and which medications are available near you. Dropsy is very difficult to treat because its a symptom rather than its own disease, meaning you’d have to find the cause as well, by the time it shows up its usually too late but the whole time she’s willing to eat and relatively active, its worth a shot, i hope all goes well
