Betta Fish: First betta!

Hello! This is Buddy

This is my first time ever owning a fish (besides neon fish when I was like 4) and I’ve always loved bettas. Lots and lots of research went into it over the course of about a year. I got him yesterday but we had a bit of a scare when my tetra heater broke in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get him a new one until about 9 am (when my local pet store opens)

I bought most of the supplies from a petland aquarium near me but I bought the actual fish from petsmart (it makes me SO sad to see them in those conditions) and he’s doing great!! He’s pretty curious and active, the only concern is glass surfing but it’s also only been like, 5 hours in his new tank.

Any advice for a new betta owner?
