Cycling this 10gallon with plans of adding a plakat betta. I have a monstera propagating in the corner and hope the roots will make a perfect hidey cave. Also hoping the moss will start to grow up towards the surface and hide the glue I used to affix it. I have catappa leaves and I’ll eventually add one. The filter and heater are in the back black container, the water flow is adjustable.

This isn’t the first planted tank I’ve cycled but I think it’s the first time I’ve seen this white stuff on my hardwood. Why is it only in certain spots? It’s algae, right? I just added some filter media from an established tank so I’m hoping that goes away soon.

Anything I’m missing? Any ideas of a natural hammock I could attach to one of the upper limbs?
