Had to euthanize two of my three bettas within the last five days and it was kinda traumatic (firth time using the hammer method because I couldn’t find any clove oil). They both passed from dropsey and I’m so confused as to what caused it. I do regular water changes on both tanks, feed them every other day and see them every day. It was so fast, within a day or two they started pineconing. I gave them epson salt baths when I noticed the bloating but it had no effect. I feel like I failed them. I’m not sure what I did wrong and I wanna better myself to prevent it from happening again. I know there’s no way to totally stop dropsey but I wanna be sure I can give my bettas the best chance

For dropsy once pineconing 7 tablespoons of epsom salt per gallon in a bath and kanplex in a seperate tank with heavy tannins for future reference.
Drospy can be caused by many things.
Poor diet
Overfeeding
Poor water quality
Stress
Bacterial infection
Parasites I find are the main cause
