Hi all! I just got my very first betta. He’s a blue rim plakat and I’ve got him in a 15 gal with a school of ember tetras and a few neocaridina. The tank has been going for 6 weeks and fully cycled, parameters looking perfect and the embers seem very happy. I have them at about 78-79°F.
My problem is that I put him yesterday, about 24 hours ago and he has stayed hidden ever since! I can sneak a peak at him in his hide but other than that he is invisible. My ember tetras perked up way sooner than this when I got them about a week ago. I’ve kept the light off to try to coax him out but have had zero luck.
Any tips or something I could be missing would be well appreciated🙏🏻 I really want this guy to be happy and do well.

Has he been coming out for food?
You could possibly try some catappa if it’s stress related, it has many benefits for bettas and other fish aswell. I don’t know how much you mind about the tea stained water, it’s something that strongly personal. 🙂
