so i just got this lil fella and im trying to give him the best life he could have. i know the tank is pretty bare right now bit im looking for more plants and decoration so he can explore more but my main question is about the hamock. i placed it there but for some reason that i don't understand he prefers chilling on the cable of the heater or stuck on the filter intake. could it be that its placed wrong or does he just prefer the other spots ? also any other recommendations are appreciated im new to all this and i want that lil guy to be as happy as possible thanks in advance

Move the hammock closer to the water surface, that’s why he prefers the other place. Can you raise the water level too I give him more volume?
Just a word of caution. When bettas wrap their fins around the filter intake, they can easily get damaged when the swim away. There are sponges that cover them which negates the problem
