Not at all! The more the merrier! As long as you have nutrient rich substrate you should be good, just make sure you know what they are between aquatic and semi aquatic plants

To each their own. I have one side of my betta tank heavily planted, and a more open side to give him open swim room which he does a lot.

For big fish, yes, but not for most.
