Based off these pictures does anyone know if this charger is a lithium ion/ LiFePO4 charger?
I used this forever to charger my marcum Brute 12volt 18ah battery for my livescope & it worked fine. I got the battery 2nd hand a few years back and it was brand new in box with this charger. Last night I converted my livescope to the clam shuttle unfortunately somehow managed to blow the battery. So have replaced it with new dedicated LiFePO4 battery and everything is working now however now the charger I have attached in the two pics will not work on my new battery. Should I look to invest in a dedicated LiFePO4 charger then?

  1. Yes. The battery’s BMS is looking for specific voltage and current to protect the battery.and probably cutting off the incoming power. What you have there doesn’t even appear to be a charger for any kind of battery, it’s just a power supply which would have supplied DC power to the charging control system for a laptop, etc.
