While fishing for walleye up in Sweden, I first hooked into a small walleye — which must have immediately been bitten off by this absolute monster of a northern pike.
110cm/43“ long
9.4kg/21.2lb heavy
We fought him for a good 15-20 minutes since he did not want to come up from the bottom. Felt like dragging a log 🙂
What a day that was, and what a memory to carry into the holidays. We released him quickly and hope he’s reflecting just as positively about that encounter as we are 😄🎣

Nice northern. I love fishing for them with spoons when there are open areas with surface ice in areas in spring and summer.
