I just moved to a new development, and found this body of water near my house, I know it was recently filled, and probably shallow. Is there any chance there’s fish in here 😭

How recently was it filled? And do you know if it was stocked?

there’s a chance for fish in any body of water because birds (and probably other animals idk) but life, uh, finds a way !!!
(also not really *any* body of water. if there’s plant growth covering 99% of the top then most likely no fish. there’s also probably some places that “accidentally” or not-so-accidentally put a bunch of chemicals in the water but idk i just thought of that one without looking into it lmao.)
long story short: it never hurts to try so get out there with a rod and try !!!

Most development retention ponds are stocked assuming they hold water year round so give it a shot!
