Betta Fish: Update on the fish I got from Dirty Santa

I posted here yesterday about how I ended up with a fish from my family’s yearly Dirty Santa (White Elephant) game. A lot of people commented and first I wanted to thank everyone for the advice they gave and also to those who reached out privately to offer help. I’m really glad everyone in this community is helpful and understanding when things just happen.

I was going to get a 10 gallon tank, but it looked a little bit small so I splurged for the 20 gallon. I got a heater, sponge filter, and some driftwood and rocks for her. I’m currently on holiday break, so thankfully I have time to baby my fish and I’ve started cycling the tank with her inside. It’s gonna be a lot of work but I’m so excited to be a fish parent lol. Her tank is a bit bare for now but way better than a cup or sad 1.5 gallon with one plant! I can’t even get a good picture of her because of how active she is! I’m gonna spoil the heck out of this fish for sure.
