It’s my first aquascape and I’ve set it up yesterday, so don’t mind if it’s kinda ugly also messed up with the pouring of water so some aqua soil went up. My question is should I add more things like a betta log or plants?

Also is it okay to fishless cycle with fish food or is it better with ammonia?
Looks good 👌🏻 the one thing I’d recommend is some floaters so the Betta can rest at the surface. I just have some Water Wisteria floating in his hospital tank but they love to just lay around since their fins become heavy. As for the Ammonia, get yourself a quick start bacteria and let the tank do its cycle that way. Throwing in food just makes a mess imo.
