Hello Everyone! This is Pompom and he has been unable to eat the for the past week. I have been feeding him Fluval bug bites for some time now and have never had any issues. I also tried giving him dried blood worms.
He goes to snap and eat the food but his little mouth just wont open? He clearly gets upset and frustrated as he starts flaring after attempting multiple times but cant get to the food. I am not sure what to do as this is my first time owning a Betta and he is a beloved classroom pet as well.

If you share water parameters that could be helpful, he doesn’t seem like he has finrot, so it’s probably something else, are there any other symptoms like lethargy?
Have you tried crushing up a little big of food and letting it float down instead? He may prefer it to be sinking or it may be easier for him. I would also maybe feed slightly less. He looks like he’s getting a little chunky
Flatten your pellets into a pancake, he should be able to eat them.
