My boy has been acting a little more depressed lately so I did a full tank upgrade , natural plants , hide outs , floating logs and I got him a bigger tank (10g ). I cycled the tank first and it’s been about a week that he’s been in it . Today I saw this , it’s similar to what I saw in his old tank. All around he’s a bit of a shy boy compared to my other beta who’s just a super social guy but I’m not sure if it means he’s not happy. He still comes out , he’s not pineconing or loosing any weight and his color is good , I’ve had him for about5 months and he’s picked up weight since I got him and still likes to eat but I don’t really have experience with bubble nests . Any pointers would be great ☺️

I didn’t have any experience with bubble nests either till I got another betta. I have 2 different males (2 separate tanks obviously) my first betta never made / has made bubble nests to this day. The second one I got almost a year later does make them. They look very similar.

I’d say this is indeed a bubble nest, but I’m not an expert 🙂

  2. Yes that’s a bubble nest, it means he’s sexually mature. Not necessarily an indication of happiness though.
