Betta Fish: Is this a good filter?


I am wanting to get a betta fish and I’ve been reading a lot on this sub to learn what I should start with. I haven’t set anything up yet but I’ve been reading that sponge filters are the best, but I’m a little confused about the setup. This looks easier to set up, vs ordering a separate air pump and different parts.

I will be placing this in a 20 gallon tank BTW

If this is not correct could someone help me by maybe sending me what you would purchase? I’m getting really puzzled by how I have to buy separate products to make the filter work.

    this person and this video specifically helped me set up my sponge filter. the first few times watching i was like what? but then i just started putting it together piece by piece following her video, and then i realized how easy it was. the initial setting up had me SO confused, but she breaks it down perfectly
