Hello everyone! I am a new betta owner and was recently gifted these little guys as my ESA passed away a bit ago. My family went back and forth and thought fish would be okay to start with! I have always wanted them.

The black and yellow one is Raptor! The container said a mustard has one. And the small blue is Seto and the large blue is Nimbus! They are twin tail halfmoons I think?

I have ordered them 5 gallon tanks but they are arriving late so in the mean time I have them in these temporary ones. I figured they were better than the murky cups. They are eating! Raptor actually hadn't eaten for a few days but when I put him in here he is! So I am really happy that they seem happier in here until then arrive!

Is there anything special I need to know? The tanks I am ordering come with heaters as I do live in a cold apartment (usually 65-70). I did want to get them live plants and some decor like wood and hide away holes!

But yeah! Here are my boys!

  1. Make sure you stay very observant of water quality since you will have to do a in-fish cycling on smaller tanks. If you are unaware of what that is simply search on YouTube and there are great video on what to do 👍. You will need the tank which you ordered. Idk if they are sets or just tanks, but you will also need: heaters for each tank, a sponge filter for each tank, air pump for the filter, substrate (gravel, sand, rocks, etc), live plants (rosette sword, red root floaters, etc), a light would be best to see them but not needed, lids for the tank (betta are know to try to jump out), you will also need some chemicals to make the cycling quicker and water safe. The main 2 is would get are API Aqua safe (removes the bad chemicals from the water like chlorine), and API Quick Start (has nitrites to help speedup the nitrogen cycle)
