Betta Fish: What kind of betta is it?

I found this betta in a 5 gallon vertical/cylindrical tank in a store. All other bettas were put in cups except this. I asked the store owner, he told that this betta was suffering from some minor illness, now he is quite recovered than before. I asked if I can take him. He said yes you can take. He was quite small than any of the bettas I saw before, even my Niro (blue halfmoon) is bigger than this betta.

This betta's personality is quite observant & curious. My older betta, his name is Niro, just chills on the surface under the frogbits & water lettuce & from there he just moves to his silicon hammock. Nowhere else. (Parameters are okay). He eats and lives to chill.
But this betta caught my eyes, he moves to every inch of soil, to every inch of the tank, sees them, etc. He even followed my finger in the store. Even brought his tankmate- Ramshorn Snail which the shop owner gave for free. He didn't even poke ramshorn's antennas.

Now he is at a bare 3 gallon tank. I am gonna shift him to my 5gallon cycled tank may be tomorrow. He even goes bottom to check the black sand of my 3 gallon tank & observe every soil particle.

Btw, is he normal? Like is he a mox breed? Or is his fins torn/rot/nipped (i felt so)?
