What if I think U need another category for the people who see green water Algea and detritus worms and duckweed for the people who have very different idea I do indoor glasds ponds as my friend calls them yer they open top two indoor tank t
I think it mostly comes down to cost and time. Id love to hace a full naturalist tank. but plants be expensive 😅 and the fish i have would just dig them up.
I think they don’t really matter beyond personal preference enough to significantly impact the health of the creatures living in it. If we’re talking about people who’ve actually read up on how to take care of the creatures. Some people just don’t know what to do and we can talk about them another time.

Whatever works for you and your aquarium is the right way
I’m the Anubis glued to rocks type guy 😏

But all your tanks are very basic and low techs…

I’m the CO2 in heavily planted 125 with plenty of algae and a bass always digging stuff up.
Bro idk what I'm doing I just pick stuff that's roughly in the right range of my tank and that my betta likes and hope it doesn't die
I'm a naturalist, CO2 is ok in small frequencies. A perfectionist can fig out the frequency per tank volume.

I'm a steady grower but not by choice. I strive to be a naturalist.
I’m the have too many tanks to manage and will complain about it but still start another one
I am naturalist and steady grower.
Naturalist but I have a variety of fish from my beta to my catfish to my pleco they 'trim' my plants and the plants use their waste
No. 3 for me
i just dont think a perfectly scaped tank looks natural and thats what i love the most about keeping aquariums!
