I recently lost my tension knob on my shamani slx so I ordered a new one from the shimano website but once its screwed on it doesn’t work and acts like there’s still no tension knob on it. anyone know how to fix?

I suspect there are some small part or parts that should reside inside the replaced knob. Find a schematic diagram for your model, and the ‘exploded’ pic should tell you what, if anything, is required/missing.

Did you maybe lose the little rod the spool tension cap actually screws down onto to apply pressure to the spool? Dunno how it could pop out , but you ain’t getting much pressure against the spool

Isn’t that also a dual tension reel. The obvious large knob and a smaller dial set in the body maybe it needs to be adjusted. Not the drag under the handle.
