My buddy is a guide in Montana. He suggested this puppy in a 6wt. I’ll be fishing sub 4.5 inch flies. Tungsten jig streamers, big cone heads, craw patterns, dungeons, mini dungeons, boogie man’s, barely legals, circus peanuts, zoo cougars, and more tungsten jig streamers. Is this a solid stick? These are roughly the size of streamers I’m fishing for (mainly in CA)

I think that rod should do fine for what you want. I am pretty partial to the gloomis IMX pro, but would suggest a 7wt, or even an 8wt. What other rods do you own?
Unless you’re concerned about the cost listen to your friend, the guide. If you are concerned about the cost there’s plenty of quality rods in the same specs for less than half the cost of that. TFO, Redington, Orvis, and Echo just to name a few.
