I just got back into the hobby last year and have a 10 gal I set up. I bought substrate and wood pieces for a larger tank but just haven't taken the time to actually go get a tank.
My partner surprised me with this cabinet and tank for Christmas. I asked if he'd like to get into the hobby with me and he said yes! So now he's researching adding a filter tank to the bottom shelf. Which is something I've never done before.
We'll plan out the fish and decor together later this year after we get it cycled.

What a wonderful gift!
That tank should drill easily if you plan to go that route. If you’ve never drilled glass, Id recommend getting a smaller tank and practicing on it before doing the 40. I cracked a sacrificial 10 twice at the start, but haven’t cracked another since (22 in the fish room) so it’s not too hard to get the hang of. 20s and 40s are thicker glass, but a good bit should have it done in 15min or less.
Note that only the sides can be drilled on this tank. Do not drill the bottom.
