Does this look like grooved by braid? Ugly stik gx2 last generation rod. Does not look too deep or sharp. Not sure if it would cut the line or anything. I have been using 20lb x4 powerpro all the time. Worth reaching out to Ugly stik? Used for less than a year.

Probably chipped by accident – doesn’t look like line abrasion to me. Bring it to a decent tackle shop and they should be able to help you replace the tip (it’s very easy)
Take a q-tip or cotton ball and swab around the tip guide. If any fibres catch and stick it’s a good indicator that the tip can damage your braid.
However from the pictures it looks like some of the coating has just worn off which is not necessarily something to worry about.
If it is damaged, tips are generally very easy to replace. I wouldn’t bother going through warranty over it as it’s so fast to fix yourself.

You can buy replacements at most sporting goods stores.
