Was an Abu guy from the beginning but I’m looking forward to the Tatula line of reels. Haven’t decided on a rod to pair it with for kayak bass fishing this spring. Was feeling out Dobyns as well as just pairing it with a Tatula rod – any input welcome!

Never owned a Daiwa reel but I have 4 of their rods. The Tatula XT is an absolute steal.
I’ve owned 4 Tatula Reels, I have 3 still. The Tatula XT Rod is by far my favorite Rod ever, I’ve had 3, first one my son stepped on, on the rocks 😓 second one I broke doing too much, it was repaired, but the shop messed it up, luckily I was able to exchange it. But it’s sturdy “when you’re not mishandling with human error” and cast like a dream. Also paired with a 7.1 Tatula “SV TW” and I have a 8.1 Tatula TW 100 paired with Phenix Feather Light Medium Light. And a Tatula TW 200 Paired with a Phenix MX Swim Bait Rod. I am a proprietary person. I’d mainly pair brand with brand, unless it’s specifically Rod brands like Phenix. But Daiwa is my goto. I have the Abu’s and Lew’s. Love them as well and prefer Shimano in spinning setups. But investing in a Calcutta here in the next week.
