was thinking of using christmas gift cards on this rod for my budget spinning rod combo mainly use ned rigs and drop shots on it currently have a 2500nasci if you have any good or bad experience with this rod or any st croix pls share!

Been using this heavily on a ballistic 2500 for about a year now and I like it. Not a huge fan of the guides but I like the rod overall
Honest opinion – I’m a huge St Croix fan and have 8 in total. I have a couple premier series spinning rods but my main rods are Avid series. If Avid or above is out of your price range, you can probably do better with another brand. St Croix really shines in the higher end series and not so much in their lower end blanks. SCIII carbon and higher makes an enormous difference
Is it the new 2025 model? They have made alot of upgrades on the new model. Both models are made in the USA. I have the new model and really like the feeling of it. I just got the old model on sale for $100, but haven’t tried it yet.
