I recently got a Tatula CT and I got gifted a Lews LFS (pricy) rod, and I'm wondering if I should just return my CT and upgrade, to match the price range of my new rod.

– Important disclaimer, I already have to return my CT anyway, since it's faulty. I could just exchange it, but they are out of stock at the moment anyway so I might not even be able to.

What do you guys think? I have some unexpected money on hand and I want my reel to match the caliber of my rod. Since I have to return it anyway, are there any reasons to not upgrade?

It’s a great reel, if you new to baitcaster go with a Shimano in a dc model, or just learn to throw it. Picking out backlashes is part of the game.

  2. Nothing wrong with a ct, I guess you could move up in daiwas lineup if you want but if you’re already starting out at the $150 range it gets into diminishing returns really quickly.

Out of curiosity, what’s faulty about your ct? I just don’t often hear about quality control issues from daiwa outside of their gears sometimes come dry.
