For the past three weeks, my betta fish’s tail has been deteriorating. I initially removed the filter because I thought the flow rate was too strong, and I change his water regularly. The heater is set to 26°C. I also add vitamins to his water regularly. I thought he might have gotten sick because of the new plants, so I treated him with methylene blue. I removed the plants and kept them in salted water for two weeks. I have now added the filter back, but I’m still not sure if the flow rate is too strong, even though I added some stones to reduce it. I’m not sure what else to change- any advice?

With no filter and a tank that clean, I doubt there is a cycle. Have you tested the water and would you be able to share the water parameters for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH etc? Do you use a dechlorinator?
