Found this bait casting setup in the late old man's garage. I tried with Google but got pretty mixed results on how this braking system works, was wondering if I could get some help.
It's missing two of the brakes, one of which I have but needs to be re-inserted. The other is nowhere to be found.
Is it still usable? Tried casting a few times with the tension and drag setup correctly but it backlashed so I stopped to check and saw the brakes like this.
Are the other 4 brakes in the on or off position?
I'm pretty new to bait casting, so even on my nice setup that I have I use 5 or all 6 of mine on my Shimano SLX. Can I leave this rod just like this and assume 4/6 brakes are on as a good beginner setup? Thanks.
