I believe it was a zebra danio. it's lived in my 20 gallon community tank for about 2 years, in a school of 5. Yesterdasy morning, he was fine and swimming and eating. I didn't notice any strange at in its behavior in the previous days too. I left for about 6 hours and when I got back he was laying face up at the bottom of the tank. I noticed it's underside was super red. He died shortly after. What happened? How do I prevent this in the future? It is possibly infectious? Do I just need to be more observersnt? anything helps 🙁

What were the water parameters? Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate? What other fish are in the tank?

  2. Idk what species it is but it could be problems from carrying eggs or water parameters. The belly looks very thick. Check for ammonia. Also if all the other fish are fine I would not worry too much. But observe!

Lived for About 2 years, and you prob got the fish as an adult? Could be of old age maybe?
