Hi reddit. I'm new to fishing, starting in August with a 3m whip and going out a half dozen times to catch ten or so fish.
My father-in-law recently found out and was excited, so got me a telescopic spinning combo for christmas along with some of his rods he has outgrown, a second reel, four spools of line, some traces and a selection of baits and lures. Aside from the 5m whip and pre-tied rigs (basically a bigger version of what I already do) I'm completely lost as to where to go from here since my options seem pretty wide open? Any advice on what would be engaging but not impossible for a beginner as next steps would be hugely appreciated.
Additional rods are 9ft 2.5lb test, 12ft 2.75lb test and 12ft 3.5lb test. Second reel is Daiwa Crossfire 20, 3000 size.
