So I have an idea I want to try…
I have a 55gal tank that we want to do for vampire crabs and other small fish. I plan on HEAVILY planting the tank, both above and below the waterline, as I don't want to use a pump filter (I want to use air powered sponge filters x2). I would like to do two sand waterfalls, one on each side, but I would like for them to come out above the waterline, possibly meander across the floating island a little before dropping back down into the water. I could use a little 40-90gph pump to add extra water at the headwaters if needed, but ideally the water pushed up by the bubbles would be enough to keep the sad flowing down stream and off the edge of the waterfall.
What do you guys think? Is it do-able?
