I know betta like slower flows and more chill water but that oxygen is important and making sure the water doesn’t become oxygen deprived especially while fish in cycling.
what is the general consensus on bubblers for betta tanks for the general health of the tank and betta? they seem to be pretty intense but i’ve heard they can be modified.
pic of queen thaddeus just for a visual haha

If there is a filter there will be oxygenation (unless you have some crazy fully submerged filter idk) so don’t worry about that. They need low flow, so low flow on a sponge filter is perfect for them. I have one tank with a low flow sponge filter and the other is in a fluval flex tank, so it has that filter (no bubbles).
Just had to say what a beauty you have there!! Love the colors and pattern!
May be controversial but I do have three tanks with male bettas with no bubblers and filters and I haven’t noticed a difference in water needs compared to those with a filter and or air stone personally. All my tanks (with a few exceptions like my guppy tanks) are black water , heavy planted, terrestrial plants filtering water from vines . driftwood, very natural eco system style set ups and again no issue without bubbler /filter or water movement. When I first choose to try this I was paranoid and would go swirl my hand in their water every few hours or blow bubbles from a straw 😂 but if it’s just a single betta and some snails and you take care of your ecosystem to set it up to be low maintenance then no need. I will say the water does get that shiny film on top so you’ll wanna watch that and can absorb with a paper towel laid on top
bettas don’t necessarily need bubblers from what i know but i like sponge filters because does both! you can put air stones in the sponge filter to make the bubbles smaller. the one that came with my sponge filter didn’t make them too much smaller so i bought some cheap ones from petco for like $4 and they’re quite small now.
