I got this betta from PetSmart. It hasn’t been swimming or eating at all. Now it is going crazy. What is going on with my fish??? It has been doing this for a couple of minutes

First what are your parameters? How big is the tank? Does it have a heater and filter? Those could all be contributing factors but most likely it’s because he’s in a divided tank with another betta. They are highly aggressive and even though the tank is divided they can smell each other so he knows there’s another fish in there with him. He needs to be separated and put in his own tank

Yeah so clearly this fish is stressed.
Water change 50% immediately make sure to USE QUICK START AND A PRIMER. Test the water to make sure there isn’t nitrate and nitrite spikes. also i recommend adding a small cave ornament in this setup that the betta can rest in.

Bettas can smell through the water, it is very possible he’s smelling the one on the other side and getting aggressive.
Highly recommend checking all water parameters first as the other fish looks sort of lethargic.

Best bet is to either get another tank, or rehome a betta. They can’t be kept together even with a divider… tried it myself when I was new to keeping fish..
OP please separate them, they’ll go over the barrier and kill each other as others mentioned.

I have that same tank. Awful idea tbh. It’s 2.5g right? And there’s also a divider in the middle and another male Berta on the other side giving each 1.25 gallons of room. Which is not enough. I’d say buy a second one of those tanks for the other betta and remove the dividers from both.
