In certain lighting/scale color layering you can get a very near if not total purple, fluorescent magenta though not so much. ‘Shimmering’ barely covers the look. Metallic bettas can be an almost otherworldly emerald, oil slick black, there’s a lot out there even if there’s no pink (though I am sure someone is working on it lol)
My first girl was royal blue over blood red, and depending on how the light shined off her she’d look blue, red, or purple (like a *solid* color change, it was so weird to see!). Bettas of all sorts are beautiful but she holds a very special place to me.
I could be wrong, but i think a TRUE deep purple isnt possible, or if it is its extremely rare and expensive.
Most purple ones i see look more like a balanced blend if blue/red

It seems like always a bluer purple and then made more purple over all by red and or pink “streaks”

Apparently if they are that deep of a purple it’s shades of red and blue and they are kind of iridescent. My boy was a light purple and grew into a bright pink, but in certain lighting, he is red and purple!!
