Found my betta fish in the shrimp hide and I have no idea how he got in there and I think he might have hurt himself, can I have some advice on what to do

  1. Looks like he squeezed himself through the holes! Might wanna keep an eye out on that scrape. He was determined to get in there by the looks of it lol. I would suggest adding a bigger underground hide so he doesn’t feel left out. Or just replace the one you have altogether or block out the bigger holes

  2. Dont use anything with holes this small when you keep fish. I know its marketed as a neat solution to give your shrimp a place to hide but these kinda things kill bettas all the time.

I learned this the hard way with a sparkling gourami. He went in through one of the bigger holes and somehow thought it a good idea to leave through a hole that was too small 🥲

Definitely take that out of the tank, imo. If he gets trapped in there he’ll die.

It’s a very superficial scrape, just clean water will heal that up in no time 🙂 yo the water changes die a while and maybe add some tannins to the water, but you don’t need to do anything special.
